         Philosophy and Models at Macdaddy
                  “Innovation Respecting Tradition”

At Macdaddy Guitars I am a Luthier passionate about each guitar I make and play. I design acoustically superior guitars with awesome playability, one at a time, with personal touches for each individual guitarist. Each guitar becomes a unique work of art and craftsmanship.
I offer two main styles - The Macdaddy 255 Jazz Blues and the new Macdaddy Quadra Florentine Acoustic Electric (and Classic Electric). I can also cross blend features as desired.

First of all, I find and cut only real wood for these guitars - no plywood.

Both models incorporate traditional arch top techniques along with innovative construction and bracing methods. I feel that the use of a floating bridge and tail fastener similar to a violin is simply a superior design both in sound transmission and structural integrity. Only the hand crafted one-piece floating bridge touches the top of these guitars.

Macdaddy Guitars are finished with a water based clear lacquer. We choose this finish because of its Environmentally Friendly nature. It is less toxic and has exceptional clarity and rivals traditional nitrocellulose lacquer with less shrinkage. I don’t encapsulate these guitars with a thick plastic finish that will kill tone and dampen the sound.

If you like the way they look, you will be seduced by the way they sound and play! Let’s build yours for you.
